SPIDER-MAN BIO
Spider-Man was the comic book creation of Stan Lee (Stanley Martin Lieber), the editor of Marvel Comics, and artist Steve Ditko in 1962. Spider-Man first appeared in the 1962 Marvel comic "Amazing Fantasy #15". Spider-Man acquired his own comic book series, "The Amazing Spider-Man" in 1963. Spider-Man eventually became the most long lived of the Marvel Comics character creations.
In the story, Peter Parker, a student, was accidentaly bitten by a radioactive spider. The bite "infected" Parker with the spider's characteristics of agility/leaping ability, strength, a tingling "spider sense" which warned Parker of eminent danger and the ability to shoot spider silk ( a protein fiber produced by spiders used to build their webs).
Peter lived with his Uncle Ben and his Aunt May. When his Uncle Ben is slain by a burglar, Peter decides to use his new found spider powers to fight crime and goes forth in a form fitting red and blue costume.
